  12. I posted a problem a few days ago where I stated my Quantum Pro
  13. 210 drive would randomly get a 'read error', which always went
  14. away on retry. It is now solved.

  16. The other day I was getting a LOT of inexplicable crashes [CED
  17. just does not crash for no reason!], and I finally threw my hands
  18. up in despair and reached for the avenging screwdriver!

  22. Opened up the A2500, and disconnected the shonky homebrew leads
  23. to my GVP A3001 disable jumper pins, and whilst I was at it,
  24. checked out the Quantum drive.

  26. The SCSI cable was loose.
  27.  
  28. I re-seated the cable, put the machine back together, and haven't
  29. had a problem since.

  31. I ran Quarterback Tools on the drive, and defragmented it, and
  32. got a diskspeed increase from the pre-defrag 400-500K/sec to
  33. 1.3Mbytes/sec. :-)
