- I have a 16mhz A3000. A person at work has a 16 mhz A3000 also. He recently
- added a PP&S '040. He has experienced errors reading and writing to his hard
- disk. He brought this to a local dealer, Creative Computers and was told that
- this is a common problem with 16mhz A3000 and '040 boards. Apparently, the 040
- chip heats up some nearby chip that deals with the hard drive IO. Has anyone
- else experienced this problem? Is this a reported problem? What is the solution
- to this problem? The person here at work had to swap out his 16mhz motherboard
- for a 25 mhz motherboard. Was this a problem that was corrected in later ver-
- sions of the 16mhz A3000. He purchased his A3000 about 9 months ago. At this
- time I don't know what version motherboard he has, but I would appreciate any
- known info about this problem.
