  23. notes groups a while back, which describes how to do what you want.

  51. Yes.. This can be done on the 3D. There are 2 coils on the left side
  52. of the monitor, toward the front a inch or so behind the three pots.
  53. You will see a tall coil (couple inches high) with a short coil (less
  54. than a inch high) in back of it. The tall coil will increase the width
  55. of the screen when it's slug is turned counter clockwise. After getting
  56. the width close, peek it using the short coil by turning it back and forth
  57. for the max. width.

  59. To completely cover the display you will have to back the tall slug out 
  60. almost all the way.
