- | Sounds really good. Can someone give me further information on this Modem?
- | Thad, What are your experiences with it?
-
- What more can be said than that it works perfectly at all standard modulations
- and DTE (RS-232) speeds? OK: "Sehr gut und wunderbar!"
-
- Further information?
-
- The four modem case screws are M1.7x9mm.
-
- Modem's case bottom is 61.3248mm (2.374") square; height is 58.3100mm (2.296").
-
- The case's slope is 3 degrees from its widest girth (at 9.2000mm (0.362")) from
- the case bottom.
-
- 8 LEDs for all standard indicators: SD, RD, DCD, DTR, OH, EC, MR, LB.
- Note: "EC" for Error Correction, "LB" for Low Battery (though in my product
- I simply feed +9 VDC directly into it.
-
- Current at idle is about 30mA, online is about 185mA, and when dialing (AND
- the speaker is enabled) is about 235mA.
-
- Comes with the "standard" Telebit humongous manual, plus a smaller "guide"
- that fits into the carrying pouch. Standard also is the external 9V power
- supply, phone cable with RJ-11 plugs, two data cables, and a 9-pin-to-25-pin
- adapter.
-
- The QBlazer is an incredible bargain for the price.
-
- And it has typical Telebit reliability (confirmed by all my tests); for one
- of my companies, I test several hundred different modems a year with one of
- my products. The modems *I* buy for my home and office use are all Telebit
- (I used to buy Ven-Tel).
-
- Computers on which I've tested the QBlazer include:
-
- 3B1
- 3B2
- Amiga
- DEC-20
- HP-9000/700 series
- Motorola 6300
- SGI IRIS
- Sun-3 and Sun-4
- Unisys/Convergent MightyFrame
- uVAX
- VAX (11-780, 11-785, 3100, etc.)
-
- (haven't tried it on my C-64 though! :-)
