- Actually, this Virtual Reality system (known as Virtuality) has been
- selling for about the past year or so. It is based on the Amiga 3000
- with some aditional hardware and a CD-Rom unit. Virtual Reality devices
- such as the Visor, the magnetic ring, etc. do tend to be quite
- expensive. The headtracking unit and body tracking unit are expensive
- as well. Together with the hardware and software, one can be had for
- about $70,000.
-
- As far as the lag time is concerned, all Virtual Reality systems out now
- have that lag time, and won't be getting rid of it until technology and
- faster hardware catch up.
-
- There will be, however, a virtual reality system based on the Amiga 500
- available sometime soon. It should feature a new Workbench-type GUI and
- "full immersion" (i.e. the Visor, and hand/body tracking). (note: this
- is not a Commodore product as far as I am aware).
-
- Virtuality itself is the product of a company called W Industries in England.
