  11.     Hi all....

  13.     Decided to set up a case/power supply for a SyQuest drive for
  14.     my A3000 (since it has no 5.25" drive bay).

  16.     It has it's own fan, power supply and power switch.
  17.  
  18.     For some reason, my A3000 will not power up if the SyQuest
  19.     is powered up...!  More specifically:

  21.         The system seems to work fine if I FIRST power up
  22.         the A3000, then a second or so later, power up the
  23.         SyQuest box.

  25.         If I power up the SyQuest before the A3000 then the
  26.         Amiga simply does not come up at all.... no fan, no lights
  27.         no activity whatsoever.

  29.     My guess is that the Amiga power supply is seeing some voltage
  30.     through the SCSI ribbon cable, coming from the SyQuest, and
  31.     causes the Amiga supply to believe there is an electrical fault,
  32.     preventing the Amiga from powering up.

  34.     Does this sound right?

  36.     Is my system in danger because of this?

  38.     Is there a more elegant way to deal with this situation?
