- Hi all....
-
- Decided to set up a case/power supply for a SyQuest drive for
- my A3000 (since it has no 5.25" drive bay).
-
- It has it's own fan, power supply and power switch.
-
- For some reason, my A3000 will not power up if the SyQuest
- is powered up...! More specifically:
-
- The system seems to work fine if I FIRST power up
- the A3000, then a second or so later, power up the
- SyQuest box.
-
- If I power up the SyQuest before the A3000 then the
- Amiga simply does not come up at all.... no fan, no lights
- no activity whatsoever.
-
- My guess is that the Amiga power supply is seeing some voltage
- through the SCSI ribbon cable, coming from the SyQuest, and
- causes the Amiga supply to believe there is an electrical fault,
- preventing the Amiga from powering up.
-
- Does this sound right?
-
- Is my system in danger because of this?
-
- Is there a more elegant way to deal with this situation?
-
- Thanks in advance.
