- In my zeal to never leave good enough alone, I bought an A2052 2 meg
- card, and pulled the Minimegs off the bus extender. With the memory card
- in the expansion chassis, the system won't boot - in fact, the screen
- won't even light up.
-
- With the memory card alone in the expansion chassis, the system boots and
- sees the memory... it even let me put the Minimegs on the bus extender,
- and for a little while, I had nearly 5 megs of memory on my little A1000!
-
- Any ideas anyone? Does anyone else out there have/use a Phoenix card
- cage?

- I had something similar happen w/ a Trumpcard-500 expansion box on an
- A1000. The trumpcard-500 box has 2 expansion slots. With only a
- Meta-4 2MEG memory card it was fine. Then, I went and added a
- Trumpcard SCSI controller in the first slot, and the memory in the
- second. I couldn't get both cards to work at the same time. IVS
- suggested dirty contacts on the autoconfig lines.
-
- Well, I switched the boards (Memory in first slot, SCSI in 2nd) and it
- works fine now (no idea why).

- P.S. - BTW, I have 2.04 in ROM so I have new PALS and no
- daughterboard. I thought this would ensure very clean signals so I
- was surprised to have the above problems at all.
