- Technically, BROADCAST QUALITY means a video signal comforms to the RS-170A
- standard. This is a list of requirements that the signal must meet to be
- considered broadcast quality.
- Since the Computer Video revolution, lots of manufacturers are claiming
- broadcast quality. Most of the time it means "24-bit color in high
- resolution". Most of the time it DOES_NOT mean it comforms to the rigid
- technical requirments of RS-170A. The Video Toaster was one of the first
- (though I recall Supra and Magni Systems claiming RS-170A) products that
- claimed to truly conform to the RS-170A requirements.
