  35.     This is a list of computer programs for the Commodore Amiga that
  36. support the ARexx interprocess communication language.  Using ARexx,
  37. you can cause these programs to interact with each other, control each
  38. other, share data, and other useful things.
  39.  
  40.     This list does not describe products in detail.  It does not rate
  41. them or review them.  It does not list the authors' addresses.  However, it
  42. does provide the names and brief descriptions of many, many ARexx-compatible
  43. products.  If you need more information on a product, consult Amiga
  44. magazines, USENET, or a product guide like AC's GUIDE TO THE COMMODORE AMIGA
  45. which is published quarterly in the USA by PiM Publications.

  47.     This document is updated monthly and posted in the USENET newsgroup
  48. comp.sys.amiga.applications.

  50.     I have listed all the ARexx products I know, but many entries
  51. are incomplete, and I've certainly missed some products.  If you use
  52. any of these products, or know of some new ones, please send me the
  53. information!  I am also interested in suggestions to improve this list.

  83. HOW TO READ THE LIST
  84.  
  85.     The information about each product includes:
  86.  
  87.     Product name:        The name of the product.
  88.     Product version:    The version number of the program.
  89.                 Since version numbers are constantly
  90.                 changing, the only guarantee you have is
  91.                 that this version DOES support ARexx.
  92.                 It is also extremely likely that any
  93.                 version with a higher number also supports
  94.                 ARexx.
  95.     Product type:        What kind of product is this?
  96.                 Results are in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS so
  97.                 you can search for topics more consistently.
  98.     Author:            The author's name.
  99.     Status:            Commercial?  Freeware?  Shareware? ...
  100.     Port name:        The name of the ARexx port.
  101.     Number of commands:    How many ARexx commands are supported.
  102.     Executes scripts by:    A description of how ARexx is used from
  103.                 INSIDE THE PROGRAM.  (We assume that every
  104.                 ARexx application can be invoked from
  105.                 OUTSIDE the program.)  Examples are:
  106.                 function keys, macro filename from a file
  107.                 requester, any key, mouse click, etc.
  108.                 If the program cannot invoke scripts,
  109.                 then the entry is "External control only."
  110.     Notes:            Brief but important information.

  112.     Rather than printing the list, I suggest that you keep it on-line.
  113. Use your text editor or some "searching" programs (like "grep" or "search")
  114. to find items of interest quickly.  For example, to find ARexx-compatible
  115. text editors, search for the word EDITOR.
