Another way, is to make a small tmp: partition on your harddrive. Maybe
about 10% of the size of the total drive. Put stuff there that you
don't mind losing if it takes a dive. When I need some quick space to
do something I know I can blast away anything there. Although right now
I have 16M of ram on a gvp040 card so I usually use ram: for lharcing
stuff. My tmp: partition is about 50mbytes for those really big tmp
jobs.
