  17. I  received  your email but my reply bounced (somebody didn't paid
  18. his  bill  in  the  chain to you...).  so let's do it in public as
  19. there  might  be  others interested in buying a cheap ($2300) CMYK
  20. color printer.

  22. A CanonBJC800 driver is available from Canon for free.  I'm pretty
  23. sure this driver sets new standards on the Amiga:
  24.  
  25. -  free definable dither routines (many presets are included)
  26. -  ink compensation
  27. -  allows you to do color adjustment without loosing color details
  28.    (ie. brighten up a picture and still print 4096 colors)
  29. -  compression for fast graphic dumps
  30. -  supports the various BJC800 modes from software
  31. -  customizable tab stops
  32. -  free definable page margins and page size
  33. -  arXon switch box support
  34. -  seperations
  35. -  mirror function
  36. -  typeface and default color selectable via software
  37. -  font independent KS 2.04 preferences program
  38.  
  39. And  in  case  you  are  lucky....   you'll  also  get  a copy of the
  40. CanonStudio   program  and  you'll  never  ask  for  ASDG's  ADPro
  41. PrefPrinter saver or TruePrint.

  46. Canon  does have the worldwide distribution rights...  so it's for
  47. free and give the Canon Hotline a call.

  49. Now what happens is, that they do not support Amiga in US... but
  50. give them a call anyway so they may start supporting the Amiga in
  51. the  future.   At  least  in  Germany and England they start doing
  52. Amiga support in a way no other company does...

  54. Now  that  Canon  US  knows  your request, how do you get the
  55. driver? There are several ways:

  58. You  can give Canon UK a call:  ++44-81-6474044 I'm sure
  59. they can manage to send you a driver to US, though it's surely not
  60. their  task  doing US support...  but at least you get it for free
  61. (hmm...   well  assume $4 for the international phone call).  Also
  62. note:   they  currently  only have a beta version.  Release of the
  63. final driver version is this week...

  66. Or   call   the   Canon   UK   BBS  and  download  ++44-81-6694586
  67. (V32/V42bis).   Warning:   BJC  package  is huge ~100KB.  Again...
