-
- I received your email but my reply bounced (somebody didn't paid
- his bill in the chain to you...). so let's do it in public as
- there might be others interested in buying a cheap ($2300) CMYK
- color printer.
-
- A CanonBJC800 driver is available from Canon for free. I'm pretty
- sure this driver sets new standards on the Amiga:
-
- - free definable dither routines (many presets are included)
- - ink compensation
- - allows you to do color adjustment without loosing color details
- (ie. brighten up a picture and still print 4096 colors)
- - compression for fast graphic dumps
- - supports the various BJC800 modes from software
- - customizable tab stops
- - free definable page margins and page size
- - arXon switch box support
- - seperations
- - mirror function
- - typeface and default color selectable via software
- - font independent KS 2.04 preferences program
-
- And in case you are lucky.... you'll also get a copy of the
- CanonStudio program and you'll never ask for ASDG's ADPro
- PrefPrinter saver or TruePrint.
-
-
- How to get the driver package (1 full disk)??????????
-
- Canon does have the worldwide distribution rights... so it's for
- free and give the Canon Hotline a call.
-
- Now what happens is, that they do not support Amiga in US... but
- give them a call anyway so they may start supporting the Amiga in
- the future. At least in Germany and England they start doing
- Amiga support in a way no other company does...
-
- Now that Canon US knows your request, how do you get the
- driver? There are several ways:
-
- I.
- You can give Canon UK a call: ++44-81-6474044 I'm sure
- they can manage to send you a driver to US, though it's surely not
- their task doing US support... but at least you get it for free
- (hmm... well assume $4 for the international phone call). Also
- note: they currently only have a beta version. Release of the
- final driver version is this week...
-
- II.
- Or call the Canon UK BBS and download ++44-81-6694586
- (V32/V42bis). Warning: BJC package is huge ~100KB. Again...
- only beta version... but fully working...
-
- III.
- Another but more expensive way is, to send $25 cash (add $5 if
- payed by international cheque). To
- Wolf Faust
- Am Dorfgarten 10
- W-6000 Frankfurt 50
- Germany
- Tel: ++49-69-5486556 (GMT)
- In this case you receive the registered CanonStudio version,
- drivers and future update notices. Oh yes... surely your receive
- the final version this way (simply because it does require some
- days to send the money ;-)
