  23. The 6.0 manual started from the ANSI library package manual and was
  24. improved from there.  Additions made after the ANSI library package
  25. were a better index (yes, the ANSI library package had an index), 
  26. multiple tables at the beginning of the book listing functions by 
  27. different types of functionality, a listing of all library functions 
  28. in the quick reference guide, rewritten sections on compiling and 
  29. linking shared libraries, and a more complete data name reference.

  31. In addition to the library reference manual, there is a two-volume
  32. User's Guide that documents the compiler, linker, debugger and
  33. other utilities, and a Quick Reference Guide, which documents
  34. compiler and linker options, debugger commands, and library 
  35. functions.
