- Often when writing shells treating files, we start from an
- ls. But:
- . not all the informations are useful. Though they are quickly
- removed with awk/sed...
- . the date is hard to parse: if there is no : in sone field,
- this field is the year. Otherwise it's hour:min. And getting
- the year is tricky: in Mar, seeing Dec means Dec from the last
- year. In summary, it's long to analyze.
-
- Isn't there some ls with a + option like in date(1)?
- If there isn't, I'll write it.
