- I was wrong. The group hasn't died. It's difficult to call it successful
- when it doesn't even produce one package a month, but it hasn't died.
- The reviewers and authors have taken it much more seriously than I
- thought; I would no longer be surprised if comp.sources.reviewed was
- still around, producing an occasional package, in five or ten years.
-
- Don't take this as praise---I still oppose the theory and practice of
- comp.sources.reviewed, and I would be happy to see it disappear. I'll
- bet most of the reviewers are a lot more cynical now about the group.
- Maybe this is the time for them to take a long hard look at what they're
- doing and to figure out *why* comp.sources.reviewed hasn't lived up to
- the optimists' expectations. Maybe, just maybe, they'll even figure out
- how to turn the group into something recognizably useful within USENET.
