  11. I was wrong. The group hasn't died. It's difficult to call it successful
  12. when it doesn't even produce one package a month, but it hasn't died.
  13. The reviewers and authors have taken it much more seriously than I
  14. thought; I would no longer be surprised if comp.sources.reviewed was
  15. still around, producing an occasional package, in five or ten years.

  17. Don't take this as praise---I still oppose the theory and practice of
  18. comp.sources.reviewed, and I would be happy to see it disappear. I'll
  19. bet most of the reviewers are a lot more cynical now about the group.
  20. Maybe this is the time for them to take a long hard look at what they're
  21. doing and to figure out *why* comp.sources.reviewed hasn't lived up to
  22. the optimists' expectations. Maybe, just maybe, they'll even figure out
  23. how to turn the group into something recognizably useful within USENET.
