- I think Craig could better answer this issue than I. My understanding
- is that the delivery system needed to function even on platforms for
- which no port of the Andrew toolkit existed. Certain internal
- architectures could have been made cleaner if the object system was
- used, but such was not an option.

- My observation is that there are people who read and are comfortable
- with ATK object system code, and people who read and are comfortable
- with the message system code, but I don't believe I've ever met anyone
- who was in both groups.
