- The Armatron 1 had 1 motor that ran a "transmission" into 6
- gears. Each of these gears drove one of 6 concentric rings at
- the base of the arm. The rings drove shafts which transfered to
- power through the arm. Between joint's more gears transfered
- power to the next stage. I successfully converted one to 6
- motors several years back using steppers, drive shafts, and some
- modifications to hold the shafts so the gears were driven.
