  12. Background:
  13. We just got a bunch of IBM PS/2 model 56's with IBM's Adapter/2 for
  14. Ethernet (a disguised WD Ethercard Plus for Microchannel).  The drivers
  15. that came with it were from back in '90 and bombed when used with
  16. the Norton Anti-Virus v2.0 stuff in config.sys.  I got newer stuff from
  17. IBM and that didn't get me much further.  Called Symantec and they told
  18. me to get the LSL.COM and IPXODI.COM off the Windows 3.11 disks.
  19. Reinstalled windows to get the stuff decompressed and that worked as far
  20. as getting IPX running over ODI (LSL + IBMODISH + IPXODI).

  22. Given that we are running a public-access lab, need virus protection,
  23. and NAV was bundled with the machines, we're anxious to have it coexist
  24. with all other softare.  Now for odipkt.

  26. The remaining problem is between odipkt & Norton AntiVirus.  I can't find
  27. anything newer than the odipkt v1.1 that I have (tried archie).  Maybe there's
  28. a configuration-type solution to this via NET.CFG, but the documentation
  29. is sparse enough (Novell v3.11's ODI Shell book doesn't even mention
  30. envelope types, only frame types) and I'm pretty new to this.

  32. All suggestions gratefully accepted.  If I get a bunch of me-too's, I'll
  33. go for a summary when I either get it working or punt.
