  13. Problems that appear on cold boots but disappear after a second (warm) boot
  14. are usually caused by not excluding an expansion card's memory area from
  15. a memory manager's load line.

  17. Make sure you tell EMM386/QEMM/whatever you're running to "exclude" the
  18. scanner and network card address space from its memory manipulations.

  20. If you run Windows, you should also tell it about the problem by using an
  21. Exclude= line in win.ini.
