  15.     Being a lazy netrunner, instead of poking around a couple thousand 
  16. FTP directories looking at every SLIP implementation known to mankind [and
  17. probably a few other species], I'm going to ask some questions.

  19.     First, the facts.
  20.  
  21.     My end:
  22.     80286-16 PC, 1mb RAM, 80mb HD [65mb free], PPI 14.4kbps modem.

  24.     The dialin:
  25.     Cisco box with Multitech 9.6kbps modem, I have a TACACS login.

  27.     This account:
  28.     Sparcstation-II, connected to the Cisco via T-1.
  29.  
  30.     I've seen things stated on some local newsgroups that lead me to
  31. believe I can, having a TACACS login on the dialin, run SLIP off it, or
  32. off the Sparc, or off something.

  34.     I've poked around a couple FTP sites, and downloaded the most 
  35. promising looking Zipfile... which turned out to be a couple hundred K of
  36. documentation.  Ack.  [Noack]

  38.     I've been told ka9q can handle SLIP nicely, which encourages me,
  39. although the documentation doesn't really say a whole lot about handling
  40. it over a dialup connection, instead of packet radio, which I don't have.

  42.     If someone out there could suggest specific files to get [and 
  43. perhaps even specific FTP sites from whence to get them], I'd be a rather
  44. happy camper, and probably stop asking silly questions for a couple days
  45. while I tried to get it set up right.

  47.     Of course, if you just want to tell me I'm silly, that's okay too.
  48. But anyway.  Any answer is better than no answer.
