  20. I don't know anything about NDIS drivers, but it is possible to do
  21. what you want, PCNFS and packet driver apps together.  You need to
  22. get the pktd.sys file to allow PCNFS to use a packet driver and
  23. the pktmux package that allows "sharing" of the packet driver among
  24. PCNFS and other packet driver apps like NCSA Telnet, etc.
  25. Limitations of this approach are very well discussed in the pktmux
  26. documentation.

  28. We are currently configured to do so with Clarkson's telbin, tn3270, etc.
  29. and still have full PCNFS capability.  So far it is working fine, especially
  30. after we re-read the pktmux documentation and discovered what option
  31. was required to get ftp transfers to work within telbin and tn3270.

  34. be obtained from...

  38. Well, it looks like Geoff Arnold posted the latest version of pktd.sys
  39. to comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc awhile back.  At least that is where I
  40. got it from.  Someone else may know of an ftp site for it.

  44. Updates of the software may be file transferred from the binary
  45. file PKTMUXxx EXE (xx being version number without a point -
  46. currently 11) on the RAL IBM mainframe (UK.AC.RL.IB on JANET,
  47. IB.RL.AC.UK on the Internet) disc PCSOFT 192.  TCP/IP users of
  48. Anonymous FTP should CD to PCSOFT.192 and binary GET PKTMUXxx.EXE.
  49. Executing the file will produce the program and documentation.
