- Previously, I read in an article here about some "quirks" of Apple's AppleTalk
- Internet Router. (i.e. behavior not documented or not corresponding to Inside
- AppleTalk) Seeing that I am (or was- now that I'm back at school I doubt
- progress will continue for a few months) writing software for an AIR, could
- someone come up with a list of these bugs/"extra features"/annoyances, or
- whatever you would call them?
-
- Also, if there is a newsgroup for this, I figure this must be it: would there be
- any interest in a piece of software with which you would "build" an AIR?
- Basically, when I started out on the project, it was really just a challenge to
- see if I could do it. Now that 97% of the code is in and debugging has begun,
- would administrators see taking an IBM PC-class machine, throwing two (or more)
- Ethernet boards into it, and running my software, as an attractive solution to
- needing a router? The whole thing is built to use the Clarkson packet drivers,
- and in fact the package allows any suite of "routing modules" to be installed at
- any one time - although the only person writing them is me right now, and the
- only module I've created is the AIR. So what does anyone/everyone think? Worth
- my time to finish it?
