- My problem is in basic CAP setup. In other words, setting up the
- 'bridge_desc' and 'etalk.local' files. No, etalk.local does NOT get
- set up correctly by UAB when its run. And the net.numbers just don't
- come out right.
-
- Specifics: SGI Personal Iris 4D/35
- Irix 4.0.1
- Want to use UAB
- One Mac IIci with 7.0.1 w/ asante 3Com E-net board.
- etalk.local file that comes out all zeros
- Builds and installs fine. Appears to run fine.
- Snitch doesn't have any net.numbers to run with.
- AUFS doesn't appear to have any net.numbers to run with.
- One vaguely frustrated guy (me).
-
- If you are running CAP 6 with patch level 100, then I believe that you
- simply can't do what you want to. I think that if you read the
- documentation carefully, you will see that UAB has only been ported to
- Suns and Ultrix machines, and not to SGIs. Once more, UAB currently
- supports ethertalk phase 1, and system 7 and I would guess the assante
- card come with ethertalk phase 2, so you would have to find a phase 1
- driver for your board.
-
- I hope this helps, but I realize that it will probably just frustrate.
