  11. Here is the error message I often get from a simple .com file
  12. when it is $SUBMITted: 
  13.     Error opening primary file SYS$INPUT
  14.     File not found
  15. I have tried quite a variety of submissions, such as changing what the
  16. job does (usually a one-liner like "$show que "), whether the owner is
  17. the submittor, whether a log file is created, where it is created, postponing
  18. the execution time.  Some work ok; some do not.  The error is
  19. occurring as the very first thing, before the system's sylogin.com, and
  20. obviously before my own login.com.   I am embarassed that I cannot detect
  21. what the essential cause of the error is, out of all the possible factors.
  22. Could it have something to do with que manager problems under V5.5-1?
