- Martin,
-
- I posted a note on our internal conferencing system, and received the
- following note from the developer who is responsible for the new PL/I
- compiler for OS/2. He OK'd posting it to the newsgroup since it may be
- of interest to other users, and the official announcement is going to be
- coming out shortly.

- ========================================================================
- This month, IBM will introduce and make available an industrial
- strength 32-bit implementation of PL/I on OS/2 2.0.
-
- It implements the SAA PL/I Common Programming Interface described in
- "SAA CPI PL/I Reference" (SC26-4381) as well as a significant number of
- extensions allowing exploitation of functions and facilities of OS/2
- version 2. The product also addresses numerous user requirements
- submitted by SHARE/GUIDE user groups as well as implementing most of the
- features from the American National Standard PL/I General Purpose Subset
- (ANSI X3.74-1987).
-
- Please get in touch with your IBM representative to get a copy or
- additional information. If you have difficulty, please get in touch with
