- I had asked a two part question. The first problem was that if an
- OS/2 window was minimized and then restored, it would act like it had
- been maximized. As an example, say I ran "help" from an OS/2 window.
- The window would minimize while view was running, and when I exitted
- view (help), the window would reopen at the upper-left section of the
- screen.

-
- Problem is, I wasn't trying to "maximize" the window. If I
- double-clicked on a minimized window or if it restored itself it would
- go to the upper-left corner as if it was maximized.
-
- I have now solved this one; the windows apparently were configured
- to maximize whenever restored. I shift-clicked on the "maximize"
- button (right end of the title bar), converting it to just the large
- square. Things now behave properly as far as that goes.
-
- Of course, there's now a second problem. I like to work in a 80x34
- window. I put the command "MODE 80,34" in my 4START.CMD to make this
- happen. When the windows were set to maximize on open, this would
- work fine; the window would resize itself at startup. Now, of course,
- it just puts scroll bars. *sigh*

-
- Perhaps I was unclear. I know how to set my choice of desktop,
- hide, or viewer for minimized windows; it can also be set from the
- desktop Settings. However, what I want is to put them on the desktop
- AND specify WHERE on the desktop the minimized window is to be placed.
- The analogue in X11 is the specification of a window's iconic
- geometry.
