  12. What I have been doing is developing DOS programs under OS/2
  13. using Microsoft C version 6 (text, no graphics). With OS/2,
  14. I do the compile/link in one window. And while it's working away, 
  15. I can jump to another window to work on another file (or whatever
  16. other thing I want to do but they will all be DOS stuff). This
  17. arrangement has worked well except every once in awhile, when I
  18. do a Ctrl-Esc to switch to another window, I'll get back to desktop
  19. the Window List menu shows up, but than hangs. I can't move the
  20. cursor with my arrow keys and I can't click anything with my mouse
  21. although my mouse cursor does move. I can't press all the keys in
  22. the world which eventually fills the keyboard buffer and OS/2
  23. beeps back at me. The mouse moves around but I can't click on
  24. anything and both buttons have no effects. I have the system clock
  25. sitting at one corner it seems to be still running. In fact, all
  26. the jobs that I do have running at the time seems to keep running
  27. fine (I can see the disk light going and when I think it is finish,
  28. I reboots and look at my log file for this program and it shows
  29. that it did finish ok). So for some reason, Ctrl-Esc freezes my
  30. keyboard/mouse input once the Windows List menu pops up. But as
  31. I said, it would work fine and then it hangs.

  33. Patterns, it seems to happen only when I'm compiling with the
  34. MSC 6 in one window, and it doesn't matter what I have in any
  35. other windows. I;ve read the README file and it has no mention
  36. of problems with MSC 6.

  38. System, I have a 33 mhz 486, ATI XL 1 Meg running at 1024x768x256
  39. mode, Logitech Mouseman (Bus).... nothing else special.

  41. Anyone seen this before? Ctrl-Alt-del works by the way. And that's
  42. how I reboots and carry on where I left off except OS/2 sure takes
  43. one heck of a long time to start up!
