  13. After several weeks of intensive working with OS/2 (and detecting a few "minor" 
  14. bugs) I have a few questions concerning the WPS. I hope that these questions do
  15. not turn out to reveal more bugs but are due to a lack of information.

  17. Most of these questions rise since a friend of mine (somebody who is used to the
  18. mac and was expecting a user-friendly design like that) has had several
  19. "problems" (system crashes) with the WPS.
  20.  
  21. (For my person I am still waiting for the ultimate file commander under OS/2...)
  22.  
  23.     <> Sometimes when I open up the drive object (e.g. C:) all directories 
  24.         containing subdirectories have a plus sign to indicate that fact.
  25.         Clicking on this plus sign opens the underlying tree structure.
  26.        But "othertimes" these indicators do not appear.
  27.        This behaving is not deterministic. Is it a bug or can it be controlled
  28.        somehow? Can anybody tell me how?!

  30.     <> Try opening a diskette with a write-protcetion on it by opening the
  31.         drive's object! the window does not open and after a few attempts
  32.         the system crashes!!! No warning, no message box!
  33.        I assume that the WPS wanted to create extended attributes 
  34.         ("EADATA.SF") on the disk and couldn't. But instead of giving up
  35.         this ridiculous plan it kills the os.
  36.        This behaving is not acceptable.
  37.        I wonder whether anybody has ever used the WPS for diskette operations.

  39.     <> If I use the WPS for file operations I don't want to have the
  40.         symbol-view but the detail-view. It is not a problem to tell the
  41.         WPS my intention so far. But then all subdirectories opened
  42.         automatically use the symbol-view again and again.
  43.        Is there any way to tell the drive object to open all directories
  44.        (or folders or however they call it) in a specific view and to save
  45.        this as a default?

  47. And a few other questions concerning several OS/2 apps:

  49.  o  EPM editor:
  50.  
  51.     <> I could not make the EPM editor display a preview of my files.
  52.         Each time I select this function (FILE -> PRINT -> PREVIEW)
  53.         the page being displayed is white. Nothing else.
  54.        Has that something todo with the fact that I have installed ~150
  55.        ATM fonts. (I have heard a rumour that the editor is not capable of
  56.        handling this amount of different fonts...).

  58.  o  Clipboard:
  59.  
  60.     <> I want to have my Clipboard coming up in a non-public state.
  61.         Using the public Clipboard within WINOS2 causes a noticable
  62.         delay on my system (486/33, 16MB) of about 1 second each time
  63.         I cut and paste in my word-processor. (Yes, I still (have to) use
  64.         my favorite word-processor under (^!$#%*@) Windows...).
  65.        Does anybody know how to make this public clipboard as default.
