- Then you've either got really fast IBM cards or something is really slow about
- your ATI card, at least from my experience. Most of the machines I'ved used
- with OS/2 have been PS/2s with 8514 adapters and the ATI Graphics Ultra I
- recently got for my home ISA machine is *much* faster. Albeit subjectively,
- it feels like it runs rings around the IBM card (and I'm even driving a
- standard IBM 8514 monitor with the ATI, so it's not just a fancy monitor
- maybe changing the subjective feel).
-
- Probably the simplest test is text scrolling. I can almost read as fast as
- the IBM 8514 used to scroll my text windows - especially if it was a full
- screen height (40-43 lines) window. With the ATI, it's just a blur, even
- with the large window - really a major difference.
