- RS>I was wondering if anyone has experimented with the new UART chip under
- RS>OS/2. Since it is system architechture, it shouldn't generate any
- RS>problems. I am more interested if the chip shows any performance
- RS>advantages over the older chip. Also, could someone tell me who the
- RS>manufacturer is and the proper part number?

- What new UART chip?
-
- If you are refering to the NS16550AFN, then it is nothing new, I have
- been using a couple for several years.
-
- Both OS/2 1.3 and 2.0 recognize and use the 16550 chips. They really
- help.
