- They won't require it, but some apps (like drawing tools) will look
- much better in color. IBM's standard desktop schemes (and icons) are
- all in colors that will be clearly visible on Monochrome systems.

- Personally, I'd just play with some schemes to get a monochrome
- desktop. You can change enough schemes that only icons will be in
- color. Of course, this won't prevent an application from forcing
- color on the screen.

- BTW:Why do you want mono? If the Samsung monitor isn't a high
- enough resolution, you can get good color displays to replace it
- with. If you're just a chromaphobe, then you won't lose that much
- with a paper-white VGA monitor.
