- I had something vaguely like this. Unfortunately, it occurred before I bought
- my new Trek, and now I've hit my head once too many times and can't quite
- remember the specifics.
-
- It seems that it was due to disks which were either
- (i) incorrectly formatted (1.4 as 1.2), or (ii) partially incorrectly formatted
- (our Zenith machines have the interesting capability to start formatting a
- 720, abort, and produce a disk unusable in a PS/2, even after formatting in
- the Zenith to a 720).
-
- My symptoms were slightly different: multiple listings of each file.

- Ooops, this is not the way to attempt "dual-boot". You cannot expect the
- boot to simply look at drive d: by removing the IFS line. It does not want
- "IFS= followed by nothing". It wants a bootable partition.
-
- Boot from your installation disks. At the first opportunity (after starting
- the second disk?), press Esc. Go to your hard disk and fix the config.sys.

-
- Sorry, can't help here. Better check Sipples' FAQ (the location of this file
- is in his signature).
