- On the weekend I ran into a problem using Notepad. After changing a few
- things around in ROM BIOS, I found myself in an endless looping error. The
- sequence of events was this -
-
- 1. Program Manager square window expands...
- 2. OS/2 System, Productivity, Command Prompt folder open
- 3. Icons appear on the desktop
- 4. Notepad opens
- 5. Error message appears - There is an option to show registers or to
- shut down the offending program. The only way out of this is
- to shut down the program (which I assume is notepad)
- 6. Everything disappears, then loop back to step 1.
-
- The question is, after a reboot, how do I make OS/2 appear with no programs
- active, i.e. how do I make it revert back to the way it was when I first
- started it up (without reinstalling....). I guess there is some file which
- tells the system what to open - what is it?
