  13. I think I found my problem with OS/2 2.0.  See my original post in this thread
  14. for the exact symptoms.

  16. I exchanged all my computer components, one by one, with a friend who has
  17. a system very similar to mine and who has no problem installing and running
  18. OS/2 2.0.  More precisely, I put his RAM, I/O card, graphic card and
  19. Hard Disk in my computer.  Everything went OK, so it's not my motherboard.
  20. Then I replaced my components one by one and checked if OS/2 would install
  21. OK.  It did, until I replaced my Hard Disk.  Then the problems came back.
  22. I also tried my Hard Disk with all his components.  Same problems.  In other
  23. words, every combination we tried with his HD worked, and every combination
  24. we tried with my HD didn't.

  26. Therefore, the problems are caused by my Connor Hard Disk.  It's an IDE, so
  27. it must be the controller attached to the drive which is not compatible
  28. with OS/2.

  30. This means I'll have to buy a new HD.  Any suggestions as to what type
  31. of HD I should buy?  I'm looking for 200 Megs capacity or more, and
  32. which would run OS/2 2.0 on a 486 33 MHz computer with 8 Megs of RAM.
  33. Something like a price/performance table would be nice.  And one last
  34. thing:  I don't want to put more than 1000$ on a new HD.  And even then,
  35. around 500$ would be much better.  :)
