- I am getting a new AMI EISA 33mHz motherboard this coming week, and the
- vendor advised using the AMI 32-bit SCSI controller. I had been planning
- to use an Adaptec 1742-B (or is it a 1740-B?). The vendor said that the
- Adaptec was also a very good controller. Advice? Experiences? I am now
- running primarily under OS/2, although may want to have some Windows 3.1
- stuff in a separate partition until OS/2 comes out with support for 3.1
- programs. I need to get this info soon! I expect to eventually add CDROM,
- etc.
-
- Also, any suggetions for SCSI HDDs? I don't want a Seagate, thank you, as my
- three previous Seagate drives were nightmares (including a destroyed Master's
- thesis). I'm looking for a fast, reliable drive in the 400-700 meg. or so
- range.
-
- Thanks for your advice!
