- Apparently, you mean the 'less' from ftp-os2.nmsu in pub/os2/2.0/gnu/, ported
- by John Kim. This version used Mattes' EMX, so the file emx.dll must be
- in a directory specified in the LIBPATH line of your config.sys.
-
- There is a problem with less and emx.dll (several updates to emx.dll have
- been appearing). I don't recall exactly which work, but on my machine I use
- 7-08-92 10:28 29778 0 emx.dll
- with less (and all the GNU stuff ported by Kai Uwe Rommel).
-
- I do wish Kai Uwe Rommel would post his less 177 for OS/2 1.x. Note that
- Rommel's version of less 170 appears at ftp-os2 as less-2u (DOS/OS2). It
- does have the advantage that it will automatically read compress'd files,
- and it will run under OS/2 1.x. Unfortunately, it seems to beep to death
- when I feed it stuff from groff (apparently, this is a problem with less,
- not groff).
-
- This 32-bit stuff is great, but I hope that folks will continue giving us
- OS/2 1.x ports when possible. And speaking of ports...I needed a port of
- the UNIX<->DOS end-of-line converter called 'flip' by Dhesi, so I made
- one with MSC 6.00A. (I do wish someone could tell me why Dhesi worked so
- hard with the findfirst/findnext calls for wildcards--I used setargv for
- HPFS compatibility.) I also ported dvips 5.490 (from the recent 2.0 post
- for OS/2) to DOS/OS2. This was easy (except I had to guess at stacksize).
