  19. Apparently, you mean the 'less' from ftp-os2.nmsu in pub/os2/2.0/gnu/, ported
  20. by John Kim. This version used Mattes' EMX, so the file emx.dll must be 
  21. in a directory specified in the LIBPATH line of your config.sys.

  23. There is a problem with less and emx.dll (several updates to emx.dll have
  24. been appearing). I don't recall exactly which work, but on my machine I use
  25.   7-08-92  10:28      29778           0  emx.dll
  26. with less (and all the GNU stuff ported by Kai Uwe Rommel).

  28. I do wish Kai Uwe Rommel would post his less 177 for OS/2 1.x. Note that
  29. Rommel's version of less 170 appears at ftp-os2 as less-2u (DOS/OS2). It 
  30. does have the advantage that it will automatically read compress'd files,
  31. and it will run under OS/2 1.x. Unfortunately, it seems to beep to death
  32. when I feed it stuff from groff (apparently, this is a problem with less,
  33. not groff).

  35. This 32-bit stuff is great, but I hope that folks will continue giving us
  36. OS/2 1.x ports when possible. And speaking of ports...I needed a port of
  37. the UNIX<->DOS end-of-line converter called 'flip' by Dhesi, so I made
  38. one with MSC 6.00A. (I do wish someone could tell me why Dhesi worked so
  39. hard with the findfirst/findnext calls for wildcards--I used setargv for
  40. HPFS compatibility.) I also ported dvips 5.490 (from the recent 2.0 post
  41. for OS/2) to DOS/OS2. This was easy (except I had to guess at stacksize).
