- : Stupid question, maybe: are you using FSACCESS to get at Drive A from
- : the DOS 5.0 image you started?
-
- Actually, I should correct myself. I just changed the STARTUP DRIVE of
- the DOS from drive A object to C. The DOS 5 system files are on C:\
- but it is not an image created using VMDISK. Should that make
- a difference?
-
- No, I am not using FSACCESS. Should I? Can I (Note that fsfilter.sys
- is not loaded)? Transfer to the A drive from the LAN session is ok
- in the sense that other DOS and OS/2 processes can read the new files.
- But the other way around is strange. A similar thing happens with the
- C drive. If I copy a file to C: from another session, I can read it
- from the VDM only the first time such a transfer is made. Subsequent
- file transfers to C: are not detected by the VDM (unless it is
- restarted).
-
- I suspect my not being able to write to C has something to do with
- fsfilter's absence but it would be nice to know. OS/2's himem.sys
- replaces the DOS version and seems to be ok.

- On an unrelated note: The msd.exe diagnostic program run from
- a DOS session hangs the system with a call your service ...
- message. It doesn't happen under raw DOS. I suspect that
- the Western Digital video card has something to do with it
- because msd works on a trident card system. Are there any
- fixes relevant to WD card that I should know about? I am
- only using the standard VGA drivers that come with OS/2.
