- There are several good choices available right now in C/C++ compilers
- for OS/2. Watcom and Zortech both support 32-Bit OS/2 flat memory
- models, as will Borland's new compiler(sometime before the end of
- the year..). Borland's development tools and OWL extensions are
- supposedly going to be very close to the windows version so that
- existing code will be very simple to port with minor changes. Borland
- also stated that they were working very closely with IBM upon IBM's
- C++ compiler due out sometime in the next year ( as an extension of
- the C-set???) Of course there is the IBM C-Set which also comes
- with the workframe (Project management environment and full PM
- debugger, as well as a resource toolkit (grinds out the code for
- the majority of the GUI work). It seems fairly complete (only
- had it for a week now myself so will hold out a bit for full verdict :)
- It has a good price right now (<$300?) Ido not however know when that is
- from and until...... FIRST though, I would suggest looking at
- ftp-os2.nmsu.edu to see what might be in the best price range (free!!)
- there.........Some other folks here would probably be better to askabout
- g++ etc.....
