- As far as I am aware, OS/2 1.3 does not understand the 1542b on it's own - you
- have to load the appropriate device driver in config.sys - which means you
- have to have another way to boot OS/2... like having a 'standard' hard disk
- with OS/2 1.3 installed and bootable, load the driver and then use the driver
- to access the SCSI drives on the 1542.
-
- If you have ONLY a 1542 (no MFM, RLL, ESDI, or IDE drives), switch to OS/2 2.0
- (notice I didn't ask... :-), you aren't going to install 1.3 on a SCSI only
- system. (I don't guarantee this, this was just my experience - same with
- Windoz 3.0 - I couldn't get it to load when my only hard drives were SCSI
- based.)
-
- Windoz 3.1 and OS/2 2.0 both seem to understand the 1542 with their standard,
- built-in drivers and both loaded and run with only my SCSI drives.
