- Procomm Plus runs fine in a DOS full-screen - until I do something in the
- foreground. When I return to PCP, I find that it has stopped exactly where
- it was when it went into the background. This happens not only on downloads,
- but when it is just sitting there at the UNIX prompt on my school account.
- At that point, my only option is to close the application. If I then redial
- without leaving Procomm, it dials fine and detects a carrier, but I never
- get the "connect" message - it just times out after the handshaking. If I
- exit PCP and re-enter, all is well again.
-
- I'm running this on a 386-20 (not SX), a USR 2400 baud internal, and have
- 8 megs of RAM. For DOS settings I have the following changes to the default
- settings:
- COM_HOLD ON
- HW_TIMER ON
- IDLE_SECONDS 10 (have tried 60)
- IDLE_SENSITIVITY 100
-
- I do not have a buffered UART, but didn't figure that really played a role
- with such a slow modem. Has anybody been successful with a 2400 baud modem
- and ProComm Plus (ver. 2.0) ? Thanks in advance for any light on the subject!
