- Kyler,
-
- The problem is much simpler than you think, and the OS/2 service
- people should have known about the problem:
-
- The Advanced version of IBN LAN Server only supports OS/2 V1.3 at
- V1.3.2 (CSD 5050) or above! Only the Entry version is supported
- for OS/2 V2.0.
-
- The primary difference between the two versions is that the Advanced
- server uses the HPFS386 file system. This file system is 32 bit code
- written to run on a 16 bit OS, and hence bypasses a lot of the base OS
- interfaces.
-
- The rewrite for OS/2 V2.0 (clean 32 bit code using base services) was not
- available at the time the LAN Server GA'd. The availability of the beta
- for the next version of the IBM LAN Server with the OS/2 V2 HPFS386 was
- announced last week in a posting to the various OS/2 newsgroups, so you
- have 3 options:
-
- 1) OS/2 V1.3.2 with Advanced LAN Server (GA)
-
- 2) OS/2 V2.0 with Entry LAN Server (GA)
-
- 3) OS/2 V2.0 with Advanced Lan Server (beta)
-
- I hope this helps you out, and again, my apologies for the service
- people not picking up on the unsupported configuration.
