  23.   I had similar problems when I ran short of disk space; it seems that
  24. a race condition is created in which nothing gets done, not even the
  25. out of space warning, probably because the swapper file is too big and
  26. is filling the file system.  I got rid of one 18Meg application, and
  27. ordered another hard disk!
  28.   I am using the 'new' kernel, and have applied all other fixes that
  29. apply to my system: 486/33, 8meg RAM, FAT file system.
