  15. I just got off the phone with HP's customer support (DeskJet division)
  16. after being told by IBM that IBM was NOT working on printer drivers
  17. for the DeskJet and IBM didn't know what HP was doing.  Well, so far
  18. HP isn't working on drivers for the DeskJet family of printers either.
  19.  
  20. The hold up seems to be negotiation over whether these DeskJet drivers
  21. will be solely owned by HP or a shared development between IBM and HP.
  22. HP's reps say they are still in "open negotiation" with IBM over
  23. whether or not DeskJet drivers will *ever* be created.  IBM is blaming
  24. HP for the hold up and HP, naturally, is blaming IBM.

  26. Anyway, HP is trying to get a list of DeskJet owners that want to see
  27. OS/2 drivers developed to show IBM that the need is there and is
  28. big enough to pressure these negotiations to close and development to
  29. start.  According to HP's customer support (DeskJet division) at (208)
  30. 323-2551, if you are an HP DeskJet family of printers owner you should
  31. write to:

  37. Camus, WA  98607

  39. and vocally request that DeskJet family of printer drivers be created
  40. for OS/2.  According to customer support, only your letters will cause
  41. these drivers to get out of negotiation and into development.

  43. So if you want to see these drivers then take a moment and write HP!
