- FYI, ^D signifies End Of File (or End Of Job) in many, but not all,
- PostScript interpreters. (I *believe* this is part of the
- specification, but I could be wrong. It's been a while.) Yet,
- several software packages insist on inserting them at the *beginning*
- of PostScript files. Go figure. This alone would certainly explain
- the inconsistent results.
