  16. instead of reinventing yet another busted scheme for time serving,
  17. PLEASE avail yourself of the latest proven time-synch technology
  18. and use NTP, the Network Time Protocol (latest version).  It has
  19. been keeping clocks synched with high precision for quite a while
  20. now and works across world-wide WANs as well as local ethernets.
  21. it works *very* well and is relatively easy to implement, assuming
  22. your kernel has the right primitives, a bit harder if it doesn't,
  23. but it ain't "rocket science" in either case.
