- instead of reinventing yet another busted scheme for time serving,
- PLEASE avail yourself of the latest proven time-synch technology
- and use NTP, the Network Time Protocol (latest version). It has
- been keeping clocks synched with high precision for quite a while
- now and works across world-wide WANs as well as local ethernets.
- it works *very* well and is relatively easy to implement, assuming
- your kernel has the right primitives, a bit harder if it doesn't,
- but it ain't "rocket science" in either case.
