- Say, MS experts: I desperately need your advise.
-
- I bought C/C++ (MS) some weeks ago and paid many bucks for it. I installed
- 386MAX version 6.01d and it seems to run fine. All my applications and
- programs run fine except one: PWB.
-
- My PWB hangs everytime I try to compile. Only a re-boot will fix it. It
- works fine from Windows, but just not from DOS.
-
- MS gave me a patch to upgrade C/C++ to 7.0a (I think). Qualitas gave me
- a patch to upgrade to 6.2.
-
- Well, if anyone else has upgraded from 6.01d to 6.2, try running 386MAX.exe.
- It complains of a wrong version number; however, the software works well
- enough to allow a clean re-boot.
-
- PWB on the other hand behaves significantly worse under 7.0a. PWB now hangs
- no matter where I run it.
-
- I tried different combinations of old and new C/C++ with old and new 386max.
- And simply wound up restoring both packages to their original versions.
-
- MS is silent so far. Can anyone else help?
