- |One workaround, at least on the MicroChannel machines I've seen, is to use a
- |password at bootup. This can be accomplished with your reference diskette.
- |Boot up with the reference diskette and check the menus for the password
- |choice. Every time you boot up, you will have to supply a password before
- |your machine even starts to load DOS.

- been spent on how to undo inadvertant password lockout on the
- AMI bios in comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware (the default password was
- something obvious like AMI, and you can always disconnect the
- battery and let the CMOS discharge...)
