  23. |One workaround, at least on the MicroChannel machines I've seen, is to use a 
  24. |password at bootup.  This can be accomplished with your reference diskette.
  25. |Boot up with the reference diskette and check the menus for the password
  26. |choice. Every time you boot up, you will have to supply a password before 
  27. |your machine even starts to load DOS.

  29. Quite a few Bioses have password options. Much discussion has
  30. been spent on how to undo inadvertant password lockout on the
  31. AMI bios in comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware (the default password was
  32. something obvious like AMI, and you can always disconnect the 
  33. battery and let the CMOS discharge...)
