- |Why do you want to park your drives from Windows? As far as I know, the only
- |time you park your drive heads is before turning off your computer. Turning
- |it off from inside Windows is a Really Bad Idea, and exiting Windows accesses
- |the disk, unparking your heads. Is there another reason you want your heads
- |parked (laptop sleep mode, etc.) and is it really necessary? (most new drives
- |autopark).
-
- Besides it isn't too necessary anymore. The large hard drives most
- of us Windows users own are a lot more resistant to head crash problems
- than the older drives were. Since they are voice coil drives, they also
- park themselves whenever one powers down.
