- Hello again, and thank you ! I have had a lot of replies to my
- request for tipson how to speed up windows.
-
- This posting is hereby to be considered a general THANK YOU !
-
- The conclusions, just to make myself boring, is this :
-
-
-
- Step 1 : Windows 3.1
-
- Step 2 : More memory ( at least 8 MB, which is all this motherboard can
- take onboard anyway. Any tips on what to do then ? :)
-
- 2.1 : A 2MB RAM drive ( For the SWAPfiles I guess... ? )
-
-
- Step 3 : Use a permanent swap file.
- ( All I have to do is convince windows that my disk is NOT
- fragmented... *sigh* )
-
- Step 4 : Buy an accelerator card...
-
-
-
- Hmmm... There is no use for a 387. What I now am wondering is this :
- Why cannot Windows use the 387 ( if installed ) for some of the more
- painstaking labour of graphics ? Is this to complicated a task ?
-
- Mmm... whilst I remember : 1 MB RAM ( in Norway ) = 38 - 40 US $
-
- Any better ? :)
