  16. Yep, FrameMaker for windows has been shipping for the last three
  17. months or so.  There's a recent review in the PC Magazine that
  18. came out this month.  I was a beta test site and am now a user of
  19. the program.  I use it mainly because it runs on my SPARC at work,
  20. and I need to work at home from time to time.  Since it only
  21. prints to laser printers (or, at least, to printers whose dot
  22. pitch is the same horizontally and vertically) my printer at home
  23. doesn't let me print :-(.  You'll need SVGA (800x600) or greater
  24. resolution on your monitor for good results, although I've seen it
  25. running on a black and white laptop at 640x400.  It needs some
  26. 10-20 meg of disk space, I think, for everything.  It certainly
  27. works as advertised: I just polished off a 25-page technical memo
  28. with the thing.  Strangely enough, the windows version load faster
  29. and is easier to use than the SPARC version, mainly because one
  30. doesn't need to reach for the mouse as often.  It took me a while,
  31. but I think I can put docs out faster with FrameMaker than with
  32. nroff/troff, the previous standard around here.  Now, if Frame
  33. would just start supporting end notes...
