- Hmmm. Don't know about NDW, but I noticed that Win3.1 file manager does
- this also, both during Disk Format and Disk Copy operations, and possibly
- other time-consuming disk activities. I don't know why it does this,
- it is certainly not a _Windows_ limitation, I have both a Format and Disk
- Copy Windows programs, and they both multi-task fairly well. The
- system does slow down a bit, but not enough to kill background file
- downloads as is always the case with File Manager. Dito if you use a
- DOS command prompt.

- Can anybody from MS tell me why WinFile blindly grabs control of the
- system during these copy/format operations?
